Adult Study
Sunday Morning Adult Studies
At different times throughout the year, adult studies are held on Sunday mornings at 11am. Special studies are also held during the seasons of Advent and Lent.
Meets every Thursday morning at 9:00am in the Heywood room. A small group of men meet at George Webb at 8am to enjoy breakfast prior to Bible Study. On August 30th, the group will start a new 24-week DVD lecture series titled Luther: Gospel, Law and Reformation. Each week will consists of a 30 minute DVD segment from Professor Phillip Cary, the Director of Philosophy Programs at Eastern University, followed by 30 minutes of discussion time. Meets the 3rd Saturday of each month (except from December and January) at 10am. The location varies depending on who is hosting. The next program will be Saturday, September 17th in the Church Library. Audrey Arndt will be hosting and Mary Lewis will be presenting a program on "National UMW."
Meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9:30am. Meetings are held in Wesley Hall. The group is currently working through the study, The Gospel According to John.
Meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month (September through April) at 9:30am. Meetings are held in the church library. The group is currently working through the book of Psalms.
Pastor Sue's Book Discussion
Once a quarter, Pastor Sue leads a book discussion during the 11am Adult Sunday School hour. The book is announced at least a month before the discussion, and the title may be well known or not. Both fiction and non-fiction books are chosen, often with a theme that connects with the faith, or current issues in our world. All are welcome to participate in the discussion.
Women's Spiritual Enrichment
Meets every Thursday morning (September through May) from 9:00 to 11:30am. The focus of Women's Spiritual Enrichment is discussion and prayer. They are currently using "Weavings" from The Upper Room as a guide for their gatherings.
We have a well-stocked church library open during church office hours. Books are available for children, teens and adults. Librarians are available to help you select books on Sunday mornings.
