Tosa Community Food Pantry Consecration (TCFP) and Community Meal | Aug. 19 | 5:30 pm
Please join us as we celebrate this new ministry at the church as it fits well with our other food ministries. We are pleased to have been able to offer the TCFP space as they had to leave their beloved St. Bernard’s. We will consecrate this space together with the priest from St. Bernard and Pastor Kate. Joyce Squire-Israel is our church board member with the food pantry. A community meal will follow the chapel service. Please register using the QR code. We look forward to having many people from the church and community here to share this time together.

1(First) Corinthians—Searching the Depth of God
Sunday Mornings | Sept 15—Oct 20 | 9:30 am | Aviary - in person and zoom| Led by Dr. Jack Kaufman, Rev. Domnik Israel, and William Fink
Jamie Soles-Clarke explores one of the most gripping books of the Bible, Paul’s 1st letter to the Corinthians. The Corinthian Christ followers were trying a new social experiment- Christian community - in the midst of a first century “sin city”. Not unlike the church today, this community dealt with factions, sexual immorality, gender issues, money issues, theological questions, lawsuits, problems in worship, and problems in leadership. This study of 1st Corinthians explores these topics and the awe-inspiring, breathtaking world of the 1st century church. Examining the teachings of Paul, Jaime Soles-Clarke addresses church history, the Logic of the Cross, spiritual gifts, and the joys and challenges of living in community with the ultimate goal of helping people apply the lessons of 1st Corinthians to their own faith.
Join us for six weeks of engaging study of 1st Corinthians.
Session 1 - Can’t We All Just Get Along?
Session 2 - Relationship Status: It’s Complicated
Session 3 - Freedom: From What? For What?
Session 4 - Gathering for Good

We are also making plans to have these sessions available online. More details to follow next month, and as we get closer to our kick-off date of Sept. 15th.
Note: The study book for this series, “1 Corinthians - Searching the Depths of God”, by Jaime Clark-Soles is available from Amazon for $17.99. Please order ahead of time and start reading!
Reading at the Ruby | Herland | September 10—October 1| 6:30 pm
WAUMC book club readers selected Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman as the next book to read and discuss. This groundbreaking novel explores a society composed entirely of women, challenging traditional gender roles and offering a thought-provoking vision of a world without male influence. Dive into themes of equality, community, and the power of female solidarity as we discuss this short and sweet timeless classic that continues to resonate with readers today. Everyone is welcome to join us for fellowship and lively discussion at the Ruby Tap at 6:30pm on Tuesday evenings. The book is available at the library or wherever you purchase your books.
